Product Design Project
Design Research and Human Centered Product Design
Fall 2024
Sponsored by Proctor & Gamble
This 10-week project began with deep qualitative research to understand how consumers manage yard weeds. As a 5-person team, we conducted secondary research and in-home visits with real consumers to uncover pain points and user insights across the end-to-end experience. These insights were synthesized into opportunity areas and clearly articulated design requirements.
Guided by these research-backed requirements, the team ideated, evaluated, and iterated on multiple concepts. Through design reviews, our work progressed from early sketches to a physical prototype. The final solution was presented to P&G innovation teams in Cincinnati, OH through a formal presentation and prototype demonstration that conveyed how our research translated into a real-world solution that meets user needs. Our work earned us an A in the course.
